3 years ago we went east to Mongolia in a cheap and crappy car. Now it's time to go south!

We have bought an even cheaper and crappier car and signed up for Budapest Bamako rally, the world’s largest amateur rally. We will start in Stavanger, Norway. Then take a detour though Budapest, Hungary to get to the official launch party, and then (hopefully) end up in Freetown, Sierra Leone. What can possibly go wrong?!

The team consist of Pia, Nils Henrik and Arnfinn. We are all adventurist that like travelling to unusual places. We believe the best way to see the world is by road, preferably in old crappy cars.

The car we have chosen this time is the ultimate terrain vehicle: A 2004-model Toyota RAV4. It has all the equipment you can dream of, including 4-wheel drive that will get you though the harshest deserts, seat heaters in case it gets cold and a horn that makes animal sounds. The only thing it's missing is air condition. But who needs air condition in Sahara anyways??

The organization Mary & Me was established by Nils Henrik to help intellectually disabled children in Tanzania. This year we are entering into a cooperation with Tumaini Home, a Norwegian-Tanzanian organization that brings hope to children in Mto wa Mbu, Arusha, Tanzania.
